With twenty-two teams taking part, the Northern region 5-a-side competition held at Maesglas, Bangor was worth seeing.
In the boys competition, there were twelve teams and placed into three groups. The winners then in another round-robin to determine the winners. The group winners were A, Elfed B, B being Eifionydd and C being Rhyl High.
In the final Rhyl High recorded a draw against Elfed B and then scored twice against Eifionydd to win the competition. At the end Eifionydd came second and Elfed B third
The girls had two groups of five. In group A, Aberconwy A were the winners and Syr Hugh Owen second whilst group B winners were Aberconwy B and Eifionydd second.
In the semi finals, Aberconwy A beat Eifionydd by four goals to two after extra time whilst Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen beat Aberconwy B in a penalty shoot out.
In the final a single goal was enough for Syr Hugh Owen to beat Aberconwy A and record their third victory out of four competitions.
Many thanks to everyone for their support, to the young people for their effort and to the schools for allowing the teachers time to take part.
