Twenty three teams took part in the annual 5-a-side for boys and girls in years 7 and 8. The event was held at Maesglas, Bangor.
The boys were in two groups with Eifionydd winning group A and Creuddyn coming second with Syr Hugh Owen winning group B and Moelwyn replacing Dinas Bran in the semi final as Dinas Bran had to return home.
The semi finals saw Eifionydd beating Moelwyn by two goals to nil but Syr Hugh Owen needed extra time to beat Creuddyn by a single goal. In the final, Syr Hugh Owen netted three goals to beat Eifionydd
With the girls we had three groups - Syr Hugh Owen won group A, Aberconwy group B and Eifionydd made up the third winners. These then played against one another with Syr Hugh Owen winning two games and they became champions with Eifionydd second and Aberconwy third.
Many thanks to everyone for their support of the competition, to the young people for their effort in playing quality football and the schools for allowing the treachers to attend the event.
The competition will be held next year at the same time. Watch this space.
